Arts in Nature Festival 2016 was a huge success!!!

This past weekend, Seattle’s only campground Camp Long, transformed into a magnificent prairie of art, music, dance, and community at Nature Consortiums annual Arts In Nature Festival.  The festival had over 2,000 attendees throughout the two days, over 55 amazing talented visual and sound installation artists, poets, musicians and dance performers, a puppet show and other art activities. The cabin installations were inviting and interactive, and had many activities for kids as well as for the whole family.  There were four stages around the camp that hosted various art and music activities. There was also rock climbing sponsored by Camp Long. Etienne was rocking the meadow with African moves with attendees dancing and having a great time. For the Saturday evening main act Big World Breaks exploded on the Nancy stage and had the audience up on their feet dancing to their funky reggae sound.  Face painting, henna, and poetry workshops were other fun features of the festival. The Seattle Housing Authority’s Project Yesler Mobile Art Studio, engaged kids giving them personal easels and painting materials giving them DIY art stations. Other vendors included Café Avole, selling traditional Ethiopian coffee, food, and other beverages.  Mobile Mavens Food Trucks provided attendees with Gai Box, Picnic, and POPs Ice cream food trucks that left everyone feeling full and refreshed! Overall, the festival was a huge success and next year will be even better!

We’d like to thank all of the performers, artists, and volunteers who helped to make this festival possible.  We’d also like to extend our gratitude to all of our wonderful sponsors:
